Reserve Bank Traineeships

Applications for 2010 Business Administration and Information Technology Traineeships are now closed. Applications for 2011 will be advertised in November 2010.

The Reserve Bank offers a number of exciting development opportunities for enthusiastic self-starters each year. The Traineeships are under the New Apprenticeship & Traineeship Scheme.

We are looking for enthusiastic, committed and well presented individuals who are keen to develop their skills in a corporate office environment. These positions are ideally suited to recent school leavers however completion of HSC or equivalent is not a pre-requisite.

Applicants with a qualification higher than a Certificate II will not be eligible to apply.

Business Administration - Head Office, Sydney and Norwest Business Park

These Traineeships are ideal for people keen to develop careers in an office environment. Some of your key responsibilities include: clerical, customer service, statistics and data entry.

The program comprises of four days per week practical work experience, and one day per week attending training towards completion of a Certificate III in Business Administration with a recognised training provider.

The 12 month program at Head Office, Sydney CBD consists of three four-month rotations through different departments. There is also a possibility of a 12 month program at Norwest Business Park which will consist of two six-month rotations through different departments.

Designated positions are available to:

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • People with disabilities
  • Long-term unemployed

Information Technology

This Traineeship offers a learning and development opportunity for people keen to develop a career in IT. During the two year program you will rotate through each section of our Information Technology Department.

The 2 year program comprises on-the-job training and practical work experience in IT. You will have the opportunity to complete a Certificate III in Information Technology with additional modules from the Certificate IV program. Candidates must demonstrate an interest in IT through completion of an IT subject at school or equivalent studies.
